Unit 4:
Monster:

Description:
The original drawing was very complex, with a lot of features that I didn't feel capable of making through clay. I had to make the feet much larger and flatter, since I don't think the original would have stood up stably. The spikes would have also been impractical and wouldn't have lasted long before it was dryer, so I made the spikes along the spine only.
Poem Inspired:

Description:
Since my class was with freshman rather than seniors, me and my partners decided to do a piece based on Curley's wife instead. Its supposed to represent that she was seen as only an object to look at, which is why its a wall hanging. The lips are meant to represent how she was demonized for wearing red lipstick, while the more dainty feminine features such as the flowers show that shes still just a girl, and isn't as bad as the boys want to believe.
Unit 5:

Description:
These coastrs were easy to make because I just rolled out a slab and cut out circles, then unglazed lyrics on them. Next time I'd make a template so they're more symmetrical and closer to the same size

Description:
For this I made a pinch pot then rolled out a handle. It wasn't very difficult because Ive made these a lot, but I wish I made the cup with a slab rather than a pinch pot. The underglaze was messier than I like, but it worked for the design.
Unit 6:
I was originally going to make this a cup, but made it a planter instead. It was simple construction, just through a slab. Next time, I'd make more holes in the bottom for water drainage, because I only did a couple.

I struggled with the body of this, because I just took a big slab and shaped it how I want, then hollowed out the inside. I wish I did more research on another way to do it. I like how it turned out, though, I just overall wish the body was less bumpy and had less ridges.
I made these two travel mugs through slabs, but I'm upset they aren't symmetrical. The blue one isn't a good size, so I'd avoid making one smaller and wider next time.
This is supposed to be a spoon rest, but I didn't like it halfway through making it so I just experimented with the underglaze. I made it by putting a slab of clay over a bowl, then made one part of it less wide so the spoon could rest there. I don't like the underglaze, it looks weird.
I made this bowl by putting a slab over a bowl. It was simple to make and I didn't really face any challenges. I like the underglaze I did, and I maybe would have made the sides of the bowl taller if I could redo it.
Platter description:
I took a slab and built the edges up to consturtc it, which I didn't like and id do a different way next time. i like the flower design, though, and surprisingly I like the brown background more than I thought.
Bowl:
I don't like the colors I used, and Id make it lighter if I redid it. I started by taking a slab and connecting the edges, then I put on the bottom. Then, I just added more slabs inside for the peace sign lines. The inside walls don't go as high as I'd like, I wish I made them match the outside walls height.
